Your overage is capped. However heavy a month gets, Pro cannot bill you more than $100 on top of the $15. An agent stuck in a loop costs you a bounded amount of money, not an open-ended one. That cap is set in our billing system, not a promise in marketing copy.
What counts as a call
One tools/call — one question your agent actually asks a server — counts as one call. Connecting does not count, and neither does listing the available tools, so you are never billed for setting Datakoot up or for an editor probing the server in the background.
The free tier is counted per caller per UTC day and resets at midnight UTC. Paid allowances are counted per billing month against your key, and are shared across all nine servers rather than being nine separate buckets.
Watching your usage
Every metered response carries X-RateLimit-Limit, X-RateLimit-Remaining and X-RateLimit-Reset headers, so you can see the meter move without logging in anywhere. Your running total for the month, your key, and your invoices live in your account portal.
Questions people actually ask
Do I need an account to try it? No. The free tier is keyless — paste one line and your agent is connected. An account only exists so we can bill you, which only matters once you want more than 100 calls a day.
What happens the moment I hit 10,000? Nothing visible. You keep working; the extra calls are added to your next invoice at $5 per 1,000, up to the $100 cap.
What happens if I stop paying? You drop to the free tier. Nothing is deleted and your account stays. Re-subscribe whenever you like.
Can I get a refund? Yes — email [email protected] and say so. Pro also starts with a free month, so you can find out whether it is worth $15 before paying anything.
Who am I buying from? Datakoot is a one-person company. Payments and invoicing are handled by Polar, who act as merchant of record. Support email goes to the person who wrote the servers.
